A luscious banana dessert with creamy layers and a gooey caramel sauce that is simple to prepare and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 box (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 ½ cups cold milk
  • 3–4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 jar (12 oz) caramel sauce
  • 1 prepared graham cracker or cookie crust (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar together until silky and smooth. Gently fold in half of the whipped topping and set aside.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and cold milk until it thickens. Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and remaining whipped topping until smooth.
  3. In a trifle dish or 9×13 pan, layer crushed graham crackers, sliced bananas, caramel sauce, cream mixture, and pudding mixture. Repeat the layers, finishing with caramel and banana slices on top.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, use reduced-fat cream cheese and sugar-free pudding mix. This dessert is best made ahead of time to allow flavors to meld.
