A quick and easy stir-fry combining tender beef and crunchy broccoli in a savory sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Blanch the broccoli in boiling water for 1-2 minutes, then drain and run under cold water.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, brown sugar, water, and sesame oil.
  3. In a skillet, heat vegetable oil over high heat and cook beef until browned, then set aside.
  4. Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan and sauté for 30 seconds.
  5. Return beef and broccoli to the pan, add sauce, and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens.
  6. Serve hot over rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds or green onions.

Avoid overcooking the beef and broccoli to maintain tenderness and crispness.
