A warm, flaky pastry bursting with strawberries and a creamy filling, perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup strawberry jam (or fresh strawberry slices tossed with sugar)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
  • Optional Glaze: ½ cup powdered sugar, 1–2 tsp milk, ¼ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unfold the puff pastry and cut it into 8 equal rectangles or squares.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla. Stir until smooth.
  4. Spoon the cream cheese mixture into the center of each pastry square and top with strawberry jam or slices.
  5. Fold the edges slightly or crimp them for decoration. Brush with beaten egg.
  6. Bake for 18-22 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  7. For optional glaze, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth and drizzle over cooled Danishes.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm or chilled.

Notes

These pastries can be frozen for up to three months. Wrap individually for best results.
