Topping Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream Creates a luscious topping.
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar Sweetens the whipped cream for a delightful finish.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Brings depth to the whipped cream.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
  • Press the mixture into a pie pan, creating an even crust on the bottom and up the sides.
  • Bake the crust for 7 minutes, then allow it to cool for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  • Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C).

Filling

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, light sour cream, key lime juice, and lime zest until smooth.
  • Pour the lime mixture into the cooled crust, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for 10 minutes, then allow to cool slightly before transferring to the refrigerator. Chill for at least 3 hours.

Topping

  • Beat heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  • Mix in vanilla extract until combined.
  • Once the pie is thoroughly chilled, spread or pipe the whipped cream over the top. Optionally, garnish with additional lime zest.

Notes

For best flavor, allow the pie to chill overnight. You can infuse the whipped cream with lime juice for added tang.
