Instructions

Preparation

  • Gather all ingredients and finely chop the onions while mincing the ginger and garlic.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Add the seasoned chicken thighs and cook until golden brown, about 5 minutes per side.
  • Remove the cooked chicken from the skillet. Add the remaining butter and minced onions to the same pan. Sauté until the onions become translucent and fragrant.
  • Mix in the minced garlic and ginger, then pour in the tomato puree. Cook this mixture for about 5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  • Stir in the garam masala, cumin, and turmeric, cooking until fragrant.
  • Return the chicken to the pan, pour in the heavy cream, and stir gently. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro alongside rice or warm naan.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, consider marinating chicken in yogurt and spices for a few hours. Adjust spice levels as desired. This recipe can be adapted for the slow cooker.
