Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces lobster tails (5–6 oz each), thawed if frozen
  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 pinch smoked paprika or cayenne (optional)
  • Fresh chopped parsley or chives, for garnish
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

Preparation

  • Use kitchen shears to cut down the top shell of each tail. Gently lift the meat out and lay it on top of the shell, ensuring it remains attached at the base.
  • Pat the lobster meat dry with paper towels.

Cooking

  • In a saucepan over very low heat, melt the butter.
  • Mix in the minced garlic, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and optional paprika. Stir gently and let it simmer on low for 2–3 minutes.
  • Place the tails in the butter with the meat-side down. Poach gently for 5–7 minutes, spooning over the buttery sauce occasionally.
  • After flipping the tails, cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until the lobster is opaque and tender.

Serving

  • Remove the lobster tails, drizzle with extra butter sauce, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Consider healthier alternatives such as using coconut oil instead of butter for a dairy-free option, or low-sodium butter to keep the dish heart-healthy. Perfect pairings include creamy mashed potatoes, risotto, or grilled asparagus.
