Ingredients

For the Brownies

  • ½ cup unsalted butter 1 stick, melted
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup chocolate chips Optional for extra fudginess

For the Strawberry Layer

  • 10–12 fresh strawberries hulled and halved or sliced
  • Paper towels to dry strawberries thoroughly

For the Chocolate Topping

  • 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp coconut oil Optional for shine

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • Melt the butter in a saucepan or microwave, stirring in both sugars until smooth.
  • Whisk in the eggs and vanilla until combined.
  • Add cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Stir until just combined. Optionally fold in chocolate chips.
  • Spread the batter into the lined pan and bake for 25–30 minutes or until the center is set.
  • Cool completely on a wire rack.

Topping

  • Wash and dry the strawberries thoroughly.
  • Arrange the sliced strawberries over the cooled brownies.
  • Melt the chocolate chips and heavy cream together in a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Pour or spread the melted chocolate over the strawberries.
  • Chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes until the chocolate sets.
  • Let stand before slicing.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream for an elegant touch. Avoid overbaking for the perfect texture.
