Ingredients

For the Fish

  • 1 lb fresh or frozen (thawed) fish fillets, boneless and skinless
  • 4 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 4 tablespoons seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 none lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 450 degrees F.
  • In a shallow dish, combine the vegetable oil and lemon juice. Mix thoroughly.
  • In another plate or dish, mix the seasoned breadcrumbs with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Gently dip each fish fillet into the oil mixture, ensuring it's well coated.
  • Transfer the fillet to the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to coat evenly.
  • Place the breaded fish fillets on a greased baking sheet, spaced apart.

Cooking

  • Bake on the center rack for 6-10 minutes, or until the breading turns golden brown and the fish is cooked through.

Serving

  • Serve the Country Oven Fried Fish with lemon wedges. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the fish just before eating.

Notes

To make your dish even better, consider toasting the breadcrumbs before breading for extra crunch and adding cayenne pepper for heat. Experiment with different types of fish.
