Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy and pale (2-3 minutes).
  • Add egg yolks and vanilla, mixing until fully combined.
  • Gradually mix in flour on low speed until just combined.
  • Roll out the dough to about ¼-inch thick between two sheets of parchment paper.
  • Cut out shapes and place them on baking sheets 1 inch apart.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are golden.
  • Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Make sure butter is at room temperature. Chill dough for 30 minutes before rolling out to maintain shape.
