Instructions

Preparation

  • In a medium-sized bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together to create a flavorful marinade.
  • Cut the chicken breast into strips or bite-sized pieces. Add the chicken to the marinade, ensuring it’s well coated. Cover and let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Cooking

  • Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated chicken strips. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked and golden-brown.
  • While the chicken cooks, warm the pita breads on the grill for about a minute.

Assembly

  • To assemble your gyros, take a warm pita and fill it with grilled chicken, tzatziki, lettuce, tomatoes, and red onion.
  • Fold the pita over the filling and serve immediately.

Notes
