  • 18 licorice strings (cut into 2-inch pieces for tails)
  • 1 parchment paper For shaping surface.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  • In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and unsalted butter. Stir until smooth and melted.
  • Remove from heat and add almond extract and a pinch of salt. Stir and adjust flavors if desired.
  • Transfer the mixture to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate for 20–30 minutes.

Shaping and Decoration

  • Use a teaspoon or small scoop to portion out the mixture and roll into oval shapes.
  • Press almond halves into the top for ears, add candy eyes, and place a red M&M or sprinkle for the nose.
  • Insert a piece of licorice for the tail.
  • Optional: Melt white chocolate chips and drizzle over the mice.
  • Chill for another 10–15 minutes until the chocolate sets.
