Ingredients

Bread and Spreads

  • 8 slices Thick-sliced white bread or Texas-style bread Fluffy and soft, perfect for soaking up flavors.
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter Softened to creamy perfection.
  • 3 cloves Fresh minced garlic Or 1 tsp garlic powder.
  • 2 tbsp Fresh or dried parsley Chopped fresh or 1 tsp dried.
  • 1/4 tsp Salt To amplify flavors.

Optional Toppings

  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated Optional for added flavor.
  • 1/2 cup Shredded mozzarella or cheddar For cheesy variation.
  • 1 tsp Fresh rosemary or thyme, chopped For herb-infused flavor.
  • 1/4 tsp Red pepper flakes or cayenne For a spicy kick.
  • 1 tbsp Honey For sweet & savory version.
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon For sweet & savory version.
  • as needed Olive oil or vegan butter Substitute for vegan version.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Soften the butter: In a bowl, allow unsalted butter to become creamy. Add minced garlic or garlic powder, parsley, and salt. Mix until well-blended.
  • Spread the garlic butter: Generously apply the garlic butter on one side of each bread slice covering the edges.

Cooking

  • Heat the skillet: Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  • Toast the bread: Place the buttered slices down on the skillet, buttered side facing down. Cook until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes, then flip and toast the other side for another 2 minutes.
  • Melt the cheese (optional): If using cheese, sprinkle on the bread after flipping and cover the pan briefly.
  • Serve immediately: Remove from heat once golden and aromatic, serve hot.

Notes

Ensure high-quality thicker bread for best results. Let the garlic butter rest to infuse flavors. A golden hue and crunchy texture is the goal—monitor the toasting closely.
