Ingredients

For the cupcakes

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix Rich and decadent.

For the filling and frosting

  • 1 cup strawberries, pureed Infuses sweetness.
  • 1 cup heavy cream For frosting.
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar Stabilizes the frosting.
  • to taste red food coloring (optional) Enhances the color of the filling.
  • to taste white frosting For decorating.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.
  • In a large bowl, mix the chocolate cake mix, water, oil, and eggs according to package instructions.
  • Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full with batter and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow cupcakes to cool completely.

Assembly

  • While cooling, prepare the strawberry filling by mixing pureed strawberries with a few drops of red food coloring if desired.
  • Once cooled, use a small knife to cut a hole in the center of each cupcake and fill it with the strawberry mixture.
  • For the frosting fangs, pipe white frosting around the edges of each cupcake and place chocolate chips or candy corn for fangs.
